PRAY THE PICTURE
Every day, we invite you into the ancient spiritual prayer practices of Lectio and Visio Divina. Each day you will be given a picture to meditate on in prayer, Visio Divina or “eating/digesting the image,” asking the Holy Spirit to prompt things from the image for you to pray into and to fill the image with spiritual meaning. Most of these visuals will connected to the concept of “Saturation” and will be connected to the insights included in each day’s prayer fuel.
We encourage you to start your prayer time each day by sitting in silence with the picture and listening for the Holy Spirit’s direction. It might also be meaningful to return to the image after you have read the additional pieces of the prayer fuel, using it to wrap up your time of intercession and giving the Holy Spirit the opportunity to speak through it on even deeper levels. May you be blessed as you engage your Creator in visually inspired prayer.
PRAY WITH CULTURAL INSIGHT
Saturation is not just a geographic concept, spanning regions and kilometers. It’s also a time concept, spanning hours and generations. When we are asking God to saturate the nation of Morocco, we are asking for a movement so wide and broad it results in a Moroccan Church spread out world-wide that is praising the name of God twenty-four hours a day seven days a week. We are asking for believers from every generation of Moroccans—those so far in years they still remember the days of French occupation, and those so young they do not yet have a concept of the pandemic. We are asking God for a move of His Spirit that is so vast, no group is left unaffected, by location or stage of life. We want each region and each hour of each day saturated with God-glorifying worship from the mouths of each Moroccan. A HUGE dream that is beyond our ability to even picture; Something that feels absurd to even verbalize, until it is framed in the light of our God of the Impossible. And He will accomplish this—on this side of Judgement Day or the other, but there will be a day when, not just every Moroccan mouth from every Moroccan region will glorify God, but EVERY mouth, from EVERY corner of the GLOBE. Our worship is a shadowy pre-cursor of that Day. May we worship with our whole beings.
Pray blessing today on the many generations currently represented in Morocco. Pray for those in the winter of their lives, living out their final days as their bodies and minds fail them. Pray for those stretched by supporting families in both directions as they care for aging parents and raise small children simultaneously. Pray for the many disenfranchised young people who have found no employment opportunities. Pray for the teens navigating one of the most tumultuous seasons of their lives, in a generation of unprecedented mental health distress, with no spiritual anchor. Pray for the children who are taught early on that aggression, physical or verbal, is their only protection. Pray for the babies being born this year whose very first moments of life will contain a series of lies being literally whispered into their seconds-old ears. Cry out on behalf of all 36 million Moroccans, that they will choose to bow the knee before it is no longer theirs to choose.
PRAY THE WORD
Each day, as we engage the practice of Lectio Divina, “eating/digesting the Word,” the Scripture we will pray comes from a community of prayer from within Morocco that has been praying Saturation over Morocco.
Adjective: “Saturated”—holding as much water or moisture as can be absorbed; thoroughly soaked
Noun: “Saturation”—the degree or extent to which something is completely absorbed
This group is daring to pray audacious prayers of saturation—asking for God’s Kingdom to come to Morocco to such an extent that it is completely absorbed in His truth, presence, and transformation. Keep this in mind as you pray these Scriptures and join with those who are already praying audacious prayers on behalf of Morocco.
Habakkuk 2:14 “For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord as the waters cover the sea.”
Let’s pray just that today – that Morocco would be saturated with the knowledge of the Lord and literally absorbed in his glory.
PRAY THE SONG
Holy Spirit, pour out your love all over this nation! Let your glory fill this nation…
