PRAY THE PICTURE

Every day, we invite you into the ancient spiritual prayer practices of Lectio and Visio Divina. Each day you will be given a picture to meditate on in prayer, Visio Divina or “eating/digesting the image,” asking the Holy Spirit to prompt things from the image for you to pray into and to fill the image with spiritual meaning. Most of these visuals will connected to the concept of “Saturation” and will be connected to the insights included in each day’s prayer fuel.

We encourage you to start your prayer time each day by sitting in silence with the picture and listening for the Holy Spirit’s direction. It might also be meaningful to return to the image after you have read the additional pieces of the prayer fuel, using it to wrap up your time of intercession and giving the Holy Spirit the opportunity to speak through it on even deeper levels. May you be blessed as you engage your Creator in visually inspired prayer.

PRAY WITH CULTURAL INSIGHT

As prayer networks within the country have been praying for saturation over this region, a vision of a building storm front has been repeated several times. Beginning with the smallest of little wispy clouds, like the one Elijah’s servant reported seeing after several rounds of searching the sky for evidence of coming rain “about the size of a man’s hand rising from the sea.” (1 Kings 18:44) This little puff of white begins to band together with others into big billowing towers of clouds, as described in Exodus by the Israelites to house the very Presence of God to guide them as they navigated through the desert. These accumulate over the northern coastal cities until they spill over from the northern tip of the country, gaining momentum over the mountains, swelling from the winds off the Atlantic Coast, until they stretch all the way down over the southernmost desert regions. Once the whole country is engulfed in clouds, they begin to darken and then the steady, saturating rain begins to fall on every tiny section of the nation.

Pray that a great movement of faith would begin in the northern regions of Morocco, and rather than Believers escaping to the freedom and safety of Europe, they would turn their attention south, and spread that Gospel from top to bottom in their country of birth. Ask that God would pour out His Presence, like a cloud, to guide and direct His people in this country as they seek the land promised to them, and that as His rain of Truth is poured out, the soil would be softened, ready to receive.

PRAY THE WORD

Each day, as we engage the practice of Lectio Divina, “eating/digesting the Word,” the Scripture we will pray comes from a community of prayer from within Morocco that has been praying Saturation over Morocco.

Adjective: “Saturated”—holding as much water or moisture as can be absorbed; thoroughly soaked
Noun: “Saturation”—the degree or extent to which something is completely absorbed

This group is daring to pray audacious prayers of saturation—asking for God’s Kingdom to come to Morocco to such an extent that it is completely absorbed in His truth, presence, and transformation. Keep this in mind as you pray these Scriptures and join with those who are already praying audacious prayers on behalf of Morocco.

1 Kings 18:41-45 Then Elijah said to Ahab, “Go get something to eat and drink, for I hear a mighty rainstorm coming!” So Ahab went to eat and drink. But Elijah climbed to the top of Mount Carmel and bowed low to the ground and prayed with his face between his knees. Then he said to his servant, “Go and look out toward the sea.” The servant went and looked, then returned to Elijah and said, “I didn’t see anything.” Seven times Elijah told him to go and look. 44Finally the seventh time, his servant told him, “I saw a little cloud about the size of a man’s hand rising from the sea.” Then Elijah shouted, “Hurry to Ahab and tell him, ‘Climb into your chariot and go back home. If you don’t hurry, the rain will stop you!’” And soon the sky was black with clouds. A heavy wind brought a terrific rainstorm…”

Pray prayers of expectancy today – that God will indeed fulfill his promise to saturate the nation of Morocco with a movement of disciples and churches even if we don’t yet see it.

PRAY THE SONG

God, we receive Your love when you come – like a flood.  We long for our friends in this nation to receive your love as you overwhelm them with Your goodness…
