“Arise, O God, judge the earth; for You shall inherit all the [Moroccan] nations!” (Psalm 82:8)
PRAY WITH CULTURAL INSIGHT
“My name is Hassan. Normally, I am doing things I know Allah forbids. I get high with my friends, chase girls who are longing for attention, cheat on my university exams and never pray at the mosque. It’s okay, though, because during Ramadan, I become a devout defender of the great faith of Islam. This month is my opportunity to tip the scales of good and bad deeds in my favor as my good acts are worth more this month. Not only do I change my behavior during this month, I change my dress as well (wearing only the traditional robes the great prophet, Mohammed, wore). May Allah receive my sacrifice of fasting and forgive my sins from the past year. Surely my fasting is not in vain. Allah is merciful and benevolent, isn’t he?”
Pray for Hassan and the many young Moroccan men just like him who transform into the most pious Muslims during Ramadan. Pray for conviction and a heart of true repentance and brokenness over their sins. Pray they would find true forgiveness and life-changing grace in Jesus.
PRAY THE BOOK OF ACTS
“But the word of God increased and multiplied.” (Acts 12:24)
We declare Lord, that it is Your Word and Your Spirit that changes pious hearts to ones broken by their sins and surrendered to Your redemption. Send Your Word throughout the nation of Morocco—may it be multiplied in the mouths of your witnesses, in dreams and visions of ones truly seeking You, in phone and computer screens trying to numb their emptiness. Increase Your Word in Morocco.
PRAY FOR SATURATION
Praying for every corner of Morocco to be saturated with the Good News of Jesus is no small prayer or vision. Especially when Islam makes up more than 99% of the population and what is leftover is split between many other world views. The Good News needs to be shared and received in Morocco and as prayer warriors, we can grab hold of fresh confidence today that we pray to a God who specializes in the seemingly impossible. No matter the physical odds staring us in the face, His power works in immeasurable amounts. He is not limited by what we know or see or even by what we ask or imagine something could be.
So let’s pray in faith today for every corner of Morocco to know Him and watch the power of our God go forth across the land! “Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work…” Ephesians 3:20
God, we worship You, because You have the power and desire to heal this land, to build Your Church, and to pour out Your presence on this nation…
